Come help put in a vegetable garden!

Brooke called today to say that my yard was chosen for a Victory Garden. Yeah!

So on Monday, September 22nd, we'll go to work. It takes five hours starting at 11am. Zack needs to take down a few fence boards so that we can access the yard from the back. We'll have to borrow Jim's truck to haul out a foot of dirt where the garden will grow. We'll also have to move the pea gravel and random pots and stuff from this area. Other than that, everything gets done in five hours. New dirt comes in, seeds are planted, and irrigation is set-up.

The work is all done by volunteers. So far, it's Brooke and I. We are looking for three or four other people that would be interested in helping. Bring your kids and learn how to plant a garden. Stay as long or little as you want. Email me if you're interested: spinachandhoney@gmail.com.

After Monday, Brooke will come by periodically to look at our garden and give us tips. Her visits are usually around key gardening times like harvest.

Stay tuned for pictures of our new garden! I can't wait 'till I can cook with it.

Thank you Victory Garden Project.

Awesome! Congrats, Thais! Taylor will be at school, so I'll see if I can stop by before I pick her up. After your initial Victory Garden post, I submitted an application too. One can only hope... :-)
