I am a Victory Garden Candidate!

Here's a picture of my backyard. I have space but it is crying out to be put to work. When my mother-in-law, Barbara, told me about the Victory Garden pilot project in San Francisco, I applied. I figure with all my interest in food, I just need a little nudge to whip my yard into shape. If all goes well, I will work with the Victory Gardens team to install a garden. Zack, Mikey, and I will be the primary caretakers of the garden, but the Victory Garden team will provide ongoing support.

This week I got a call back saying that I am being considered and that they would like to do a site visit. If my yard passes the inspection, I'll continue to blog about the process and how everything turns out.

Check out the large Victory Garden outside San Francisco's city hall.

That's fantastic! I hadn't heard about the Victory Garden, but now it's everywhere thanks to the Slow Food events this weekend. I think I'm gonna check it out tomorrow.

Keep us posted.
